Strange Things in the Sky
Clouds are part of our everyday lives - soft, drifting shapes that decorate the sky. But not all clouds are what they seem. Across the world, people have reported clouds that behave oddly, glow with unnatural light, emit powerful sounds, or conceal things that shouldn't be there. Skygaze turns its focus upward to explore the mysteries hidden in the vapor above.

UFO Clouds
Lenticular clouds are lens-shaped formations that appear over mountain ranges. But to the untrained eye, they look like massive flying saucers hovering silently. In fact, many famous UFO photos over the years have turned out to be lenticular clouds. Their smooth, disk-like structure and eerie stillness can trigger panic or awe - especially when lit by sunset or backlit by moonlight.

Fallstreak Holes
Also called "hole punch clouds," these bizarre formations appear as giant, circular gaps in otherwise uniform cloud layers. They look like something has fallen through the sky - or punched a hole from above. Sometimes a rainbow-colored glow appears inside them, further adding to the surreal sight. Pilots and skywatchers alike have photographed them with disbelief, and they're often mistaken for portals or weather experiments.

Mammatus and Sky Boils
Mammatus clouds look like a series of hanging bubbles or boils underneath storm anvils. They're beautiful but ominous - often signaling powerful turbulence or severe weather. Some witnesses have compared them to *the sky sagging*, or to unnatural textures not seen in nature. Photographs of bright orange mammatus clouds at sunset are among the most haunting weather images captured.

Sky Trumpets
Since around 2011, people around the world have recorded mysterious horn-like sounds coming from the sky. Sometimes low and droning, other times metallic and sharp, the noises seem to come from nowhere - often near cloud cover, and lasting for minutes at a time. Theories include atmospheric pressure shifts, Earth harmonics, or manmade sources. But to those who've heard it - including some recordings right here in Canada - it's deeply unsettling. (You may want to include a sound sample or link here.)

Weather Experiments
For decades, governments have tried to manipulate the weather using techniques like cloud seeding - where silver iodide is sprayed into clouds to induce rain. Projects like HAARP (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program) have also drawn conspiracy theories for their supposed ability to modify weather or create cloud patterns. While the science has limits, the mystery grows whenever strange clouds appear after military activity or sudden climate shifts.

Concealing the Unknown
Numerous UFO sightings have described clouds behaving oddly - standing still in windy conditions, flashing light from within, or appearing and vanishing in moments. In some reports, glowing craft disappear *into* cloud banks or emerge from them. Skeptics call it misperception. Others believe clouds are used intentionally to hide advanced technology or phenomena not meant to be seen. Some speculate that certain cloud shapes aren't natural at all.

Reflection
We look up and see beauty, but sometimes we sense something deeper - a tension in the sky, a strange stillness, or a sound we can't explain. Clouds are water vapor and sunlight... and sometimes, more than that. Whether shaped by nature, technology, or something else entirely, they remain the perfect canvas for both wonder and fear.
